Just finished a great book - "Storyworthy" by Matthew Dick.

Matthew is a great at telling stories and has won many awards telling them.

One of the most interesting suggestions he makes is to daily record "Five-Second Moments." He defines those moments as experiences of "true transformation." One of his biggest "Five-Second Moments" was when he realized that despite a challenging childhood, he did indeed have a family. He found it in faithful and loving friends that supported him.

Dick recommends keeping a daily journal of the little moments that mean a lot. He keeps it in an Excel file. The moments don't have to be award winning. They are the moments that moved your heart. Record them in only one or two sentences. You may not be able to write the story on the day it happened. By you will have recorded it so that you will always have that memory. It will never be forgotten - not for you or your grandchildren.

These are stories worth writing down for your grandchildren. The moment your life changed forever. When you had an epiphany. When you would never look at life the same way.

A huge benefit of doing this is you develop a habit of looking for the magic moments every day. A habit of finding eternal truths in everyday events; of finding great love in small gestures of kindness that can mean so much.

Share your heart in the stories that contain magic moments in your life.
