    Joe's Dad

This weekend I was Indio, California. I was grilling some tri-tip and started talking to the other grill master. His name was Joe too.

He told me that his dad immigrated from Romania. Joe was one of six children. All had college degrees and most had graduate degrees.

In 1965, Nicolae Ceausescu becomes Communist Party leader. Romanians under Ceausescu faced restrictions on movement, expression, and access to information, while human rights groups documented widespread abuses, including torture and imprisonment for political opposition. He was overthrown in 1989.

Joe's dad must have seen a lot and gone through a lot. I would have loved to hear his stories. I am sure his grandchildren would also love to hear his stories. The best way to make sure that his stories are remember are for Joe's dad to write them down.

I left Joe a copy of my book and hope that compels Joe to convince his dad to write down the stories of his life.

Joe, this is Karoline. Joe Krofcheks youngest daughter. My dad wrote a book about his life and my kids read it and they were excited to learn how my mom and dad met. We have 9 almost 10 grandchildren now either oldest almost 18 and you’ve inspired me to encourage my husband to write to them. I do that already but grandfathers are oftened quiet with the exception of my dad lol and your dad Tom. I hope your doing well. Take care
