Here's a challenge.
Summarize your best words of wisdom to a single page. I recently gave a 40 minute speech on writing a letter to your grandchildren and one piece of advice I received is that the letter should include a one page summary. I thought it might be a good exercise at minimum and potentially it had the possibility of being a really great idea.
So, challenge accepted. Here is a one page list of my current best words of advice.
What would you add?
Read. Reading will help you with the most important thing in your life.
Money is very, very important.
Habits are very important. Develop good habits and stick with them.
The truth is life is hard. Equip yourself with the tools to get through the really hard times.
You are going to make mistakes. Learn how to forgive yourself. Learn from mistakes and fail forward.
Find the things that make you happy and pursue them.
Take care of your health and fitness. Find an exercise you like and do it.
Write a letter to your grandchildren.
Don't waste time. Time is the greatest resource on the planet. Every day is a gift.
God grant me the serenity to accept the things I can't change, the strength to change the things I can and the wisdom to know the difference.
Ultimately, we have one great true freedom - our attitude in any situation.
Life is not what happens to you, it is how you respond to it.
Life is a journey, not a destination.
Become the best person you can be. It is an ongoing process, not a destination.
All unhappiness is caused by comparison. Desire equals pain.
Rule your own mind or you will be ruled by it.
Life isn't about finding yourself. It's about creating yourself.
No matter what happens, it is in my power to turn it into my advantage.
Do less, better.
The happiness of your life depends on the quality of your thoughts.
